Abstract

This research aims to develop and create a simple of user-friendly marketplace platform called “Pasar Kebo” for the farming (livestock) ecosystem in Kudus Regency as well as testing the effectiveness of the product. With this platform, it is hoped to create an integrated farming ecosystem, thereby creating an efficient supply chain management system. This will make it easier for smallholder farmers to obtain livestock production facilities to sell their livestock products in the market. So this will certainly improve the welfare of the livestock ecosystem members. For the government, this platform can be useful to provide accurate data in the mapping and monitoring of animal production, as well as a basis for the implementation of appropriate policies in the livestock sector. Data collection was accomplished through direct interviews with several Kudus breeders as well as observations at the Office of Agriculture in the Kudus Regency livestock sector. This research is longitudinal, so it will be carried out in stages, and each stage uses a different method. For this step, we tried to develop a prototype. For the next stage, it will be developed until this breeding ecosystem market platform is really perfectly realized.

Abstract

Transportation process is responsible for providing efficiency of moving products considering time, cost, and vehicle utilities through inbound and outbound logistics. Transportation disruptions such as congestion, delays, or cancellations can have a detrimental impact on the company. PT X uses trains to transport unpackaged cement in bulk from factory to port. PT X has not met the daily train delivery target due to train delays, inconsistency delivery frequency and ineffective schedule. Therefore, the quantity of shipment does not meet the expected target. In this study, optimization of train rescheduling was carried out to minimize total train delays. This optimization is expected to be able to create a new train schedule that meets the daily delivery target. The proposed model is formulated as and solved as Integer Linear Programming (ILP) problem by considering single-track railway constraints. Results show the optimal train schedules give a total delay of 26 minutes. Compared to the existing condition, train delays are reduced by 69.7% and provide a more effective schedule with consistent delivery frequency.

Abstract

This research is intended to analyze the patient flows through a number of processes in the Emergency Department (ED) using Discrete Event Simulation (DES) approach. In this paper, the time that a patient spends in the ED as well as the total number of patients served by the ED in a day were investigated and compared with the standard of the medical service time set by the hospital. A case study of Hospital X’s ED in Jakarta, Indonesia was modeled using ProModel software. In addition, this research also proposes a number of considerable scenarios for defining the suitable number of beds and nurses. The results signify that the average time spent in the ED and the number of patients served can be optimized by adding 1 nurse and 2 beds. This finding signifies that the DES modeling approach may assist the hospital managers with the decent decision for improving the efficiency of the patient flows in the ED.

Abstract

MSMEsTandi's Bakery produces never stop every day. Therefore, inventory control has a very important position. At Tandi's bakery there are often stock outs and the determination of the Reorder Point is erratic. This study aims to determine the number of orders in the next 1 year using Ordinary Least Square (OLS) and to determine the optimal number of orders that must be issued by business actors, to find out when reorders must be made (ROP), and the application of the EOQ and OLS methods in Tandi's Bakery to optimize inventory costs. This type of research is descriptive in terms of data used primary and secondary data in the form of analysis related to the supply of raw materials for bread. The results showed that the sales of bread in the next 1 year amounted to87,868 pcs of bread according to the OLS method. The optimal purchase amount for Tandi's Bakery raw materials uses the EOQ method in the 2021/2022 period, namely 256 kg of flour, 55 kg of butter and 113 liters of liquid milk while in the previous period 291 kg of flour, 48 kg of butter and 69 liters of liquid milk. The frequency of orders using the EOQ method in the 2021/2022 period, namely 8 times flour, 4 times butter and 6 times liquid milk, while the order frequency for the previous period was 9 times flour, 4 times butter and 4 times liquid milk. The total inventory cost (TIC) using the EOQ method for the 2021/2022 period is as follows: Flour Rp. 255,148, Butter Rp. 135,417 and liquid milk of Rp. 174,006 while the previous period, namely flour, amounted to Rp. 891,032, Butter Rp. 870,670, liquid milk of Rp. 869,954. The exact time to reorder the reorder point (ROP) according to the EOQ method in the 2021/2022 period is 74,909 kg of flour, 8,438 kg of butter and 22,476 liters of liquid milk. In the previous period flour 97.129 kg, butter 6.387 kg and liquid milk 8.998 liters.

Abstract

In Malaysia, the demand for beef outsprints its supply. This issue has led to an unstainable over-reliance on imports and consequently has brought to the issues of steep prices to end consumers. Part of the problem is a poor understanding of the beef buying preferences of consumers and the factors that shape the preferences. This study sought to determine the key factors influencing consumer buying preferences for beef among Malaysian, particularly examining the effects of price and quality. A cross-sectional survey of 384 beef consumers drawn from social media platforms was undertaken. Data was collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using SPSS. All factors were found to have a significant positive effect on beef buying preferences among consumers in Malaysia. It is recommended that firms in the beef industry consider these factors in their beef production and marketing

Abstract

PT BINMED Ecomedika Industri (BINMED) is one of the companies engaged in the manufacture of medical devices in the form of special waste bins for sharps medical waste. Since starting to be marketed in 2019 until now, BINMED products have not reached the sales target. This is because conventional and/or non-standard safety boxes such as medical plastic bags, used bottles of mineral water in packaging, and jerry cans are still being used. In addition, BINMED products have just begun to be marketed in the Jabodetabek area using free trials and discounts. However, these two methods have not been able to attract the attention of potential buyers. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the factors that influence prospective buyers to switch to using the BINMED safety box. The data collected were 72 samples using the purposive sampling technique to find the right respondents, namely prospective buyers working in the health sector. The variables used in this study include push effects (pricing, satisfaction, and trust), pull effects (attractive alternatives), and mooring effects (switching costs and subjective norms). Based on the results of data processing and analysis of research results, it was found that alternative interest had a significant effect on the intention to switch to the use of the safety box while the variables of pricing, satisfaction, trust, switching costs, subjective norms and the moderating effect of the mooring effects between push and pull effects and switching intentions did not affect switching intentions. The managerial implication that can be applied by the company is to promote on social media and cooperate with medical waste transport service providers who have collaborated with health facilities.
